Cat Yoga, another stretch

We have two gorgeous ragdoll kittens who like to get involved in everything. They are so exceptionally adorable, their sometimes pesky behaviour can be passed off as cute. Today was no exception. Both of them were settled and asleep so I decided to do a yoga workout. The cats LOVE the yoga mat. I have no idea why, but as soon as it is rolled out, they jump on it. So my little girl kitten was my yoga buddy today. And like yesterday’s faster walk, she challenged me in a number of ways. The best way was lying underneath me during my planks so I had to hold them for extra long. Then biting my feet during the warrior poses, meaning much more balance and poise was necessary than normal. How lucky am I to have that extra challenge?

These extra challenges can seem like brick walls at first, or even excuses to quit or try something else (because this is clearly not working). Or they can be looked at as opportunities. Those opportunities might be hard to spot, but they are worth looking for. It may be the difference between sticking at something and making it a success or never knowing at all.

Well, I made it through my workout. The kitten-assisted sun salutes, warriors, triangles and downward dogs left me quite warm and stretched and pleased to make it through another day of sticking to at least 30 minutes of exercise a day in April.

What are your goals? What are your challenges? How might these be turned into opportunities to stretch even more?
